Who are we?
We're a couple who have become passionate anglers over the last couple of years. Martin always loved fishing but I had to first accidentally catch a fish to really get bitten, and since that day we've been fishing non-stop.
We stay in Centurion, South Africa and our "local" is Rietvlei Dam, where we do most of our fishing. But we are constantly travelling all over South Africa looking for new fishing spots and adventures.
We try to practice catch-and-release whenever we can, and we take fish-care and conservation very seriously.

Fishing and travel, and that's all. We love seeing new places all around our beautiful country, and this website serves as a light-hearted record of our fishing expeditions.
We'll also include maps to fishing spots and useful information we've discovered over the years that have helped us. Hopefully, among all the information we'll keep adding here, you'll find something useful when planning your next fishing trip.
What do we catch?

We mostly catch bass wherever we go. And we also really love papgooi (not quite at specimen level yet), which includes carp, yellowfish, barbel, mudfish, moggel etc.
Otherwise we flyfish as well, mainly for trout but sometimes for yellowfish in rivers. When we do get to the ocean we try rock & surf, but with very limited success so far. That's a skill we'll cultivate over time.

It's all free of course — we are not trying to sell anything. We do it because we enjoy sharing and promoting the sport of fishing in a sustainable way. There are ads on the site, but we've limited them mostly so they don't impede on the content.
Why the name Anglinks?
Why the name Anglinks?
It's actually a combination of a few words. Angling + Linky + links (like fishing spot website links) = Anglinks. So the name Anglinks is supposed to capture what the site and we are all about.
